Sneaker Talk 2 - Recent Additions
Nike Air Max 90 - Black/White
Reebok Ex-O-Fit Hi Strap
Air Jordan 12 - Rising Sun
Nike Zoom Kobe 5
AMEN

The 'Uprising' of Adidas Basketball?
You gotta first check out the links below.
The following Adidas's new marketing campaign of basketball - 'We NOT Me' commercials featured its top NBA players.
It's on Me for We
Chauncey Billups
Josh Smith
Derrick Rose
Tim Duncan
Michael Beasley
Finished? How you feel?
I don't know how you feel but to me, they are tremendous! They are nicely done!
Adidas's marketing has always been behind Nike. But i am now dare to say that their marketing effort and creativity on commercials are really really really close to Nike now. Sorry that i still cannot say Adidas is surpassing Nike because matter of fact, the creativity level of Nike's commercials is even beyond sports that they can be compared to any other commercials for commodity.
From a advertsiing standpoint, the integration of computer technologies, idea and eye-entertainment has made the 'It's on Me for We' commercial very outstanding.
I am just so glad to see that Adidas is finally catching up and doing their thing! Keep going Adidas! Keep the ideas coming!

Zhuhai Trip (1) -
The Captain just went to Zhuhai(珠海) for work purposes, though i could take some time off to browse around the vibrant port city of China that i had never been.
Throughout my whole trip, the biggest gain to me was the opportunity to have browsed all 4 stores of the biggest sports brand names of China. I will continue what i did in Zhuhai later.
Okay, the following is what i think about the 4 top dogs:
Li-Ning
HK Stocks: 2331.HK, $21.9 (as of 2009-10-15)
Endorsers: Shaquille O'Neal (Cleveland Cavaliers), Baron Davis (Los Angeles Clippers), Yelena Isinbayeva (Women's pole vault World Record holder)
I have always admired the 'Prince of Gymnastics'. Li Ning, one of the most successful athlete-turned-entrepreneur. His desire to learn and his love for his family are something that the modern businessmen should learn.
Something about Li-Ning and i is that i have actually contacted the staff at Li-Ning to grab related information for one of my assignments. That assignment was 300,000-word long and i only got a pass for it because the teacher said that i overanalysed it.
Anyway, Li-Ning's products are still arguably the best amongst all Chinese sports brands in terms of quality and design. This is understandable since Li-Ning is globally-focused and continuing to expand to different ends of the world. Surely Li-Ning needs to adapt to different cultures for people's tastes.
Li-Ning has also executed correct and fantastic global expansion strategies - celebrities endorsement. Most remarkably the proud sponsors of Spanish National Team and Argentina National Team. The new sposorship of Yelena Isinbayeva is absolutely sensational to their brand value.
Future: Li-Ning will continue to grow as one of the top sports brands in the world. Better yet, still no match to Nike and Adidas. But eyes on Li-Ning? Every pair.
Peak
HK Stocks: 1968.HK, $3.670 (as of 2009-10-15)
Endorsers: Ron Artest (Los Angeles Lakers), Jason Kidd (Dallas Mavericks), Shane Battier (Houston Rockets)
Peak is one of the earliest sports brands of China. Its products have exsisted in Chinese market for a long time yet it never really got out of the mainland most likely until Li-Ning did its signings with National Teams of other countries.
I think Peak had realized its potential to become a global brand after Li-Ning did so. I cannot say they did it too late, though i reckon Peak could possibly have been a bigger name than Li-Ning if they had executed its globalization earlier.
As i said before that Peak has long exsisted in the sports apparels game, its quality of products is excellent. Besides, signings of the NBA players and the FIBA sponsorship are a lock for Peak to stay on top of the game.
Future: My personal opinion is to focus on expanding its NBA signings. Peak currently has 7 NBA endorers, which make up to be 'the most NBA players' Chinese sponsor. I don't think Peak can expand other lines of products, focusing on Chinese market, NBA players endorsement and the U.S. would be a wise business decision.
Anta
HK Stocks: 2020.HK, $10.08 (as of 2009-10-15)
Endorsers: Luis Scola (Argentina Basketball National Team), Jelena Jankovic (World-famous tennis player), Zheng Jie (World-famous tennis player)
When i stepped into the 5,000 feet, 2-floor store of Anta, it gave me a very positive, clean and neat impression. Anta has always given me a positive image among other Chinese sports brands. Its great quality of products, better designs and smart signings of Jelena Jankovic and Zheng Jie all contribute to the positive brand image.
Anta's goods are better-designed and better-diversified compared to 3 of them. As Anta has exposed largely to the world, the designs of products probably matter the most. Personally, Anta has a slight advantage over the other 3 in terms of design.
Future: Future is looking good for Anta. What i would suggest is do not look for sponsorship of national teams like how Li-Ning and Peak do. Do what you do, establish the company image as a style, functions and design focused brand. Differentiate yourself Anta!
361
HK Stocks: 1361.HK, $4.480 (as of 2009-10-15)
Endorsers: ?
When i looked around the shop and checked out the products, i was wondering how come even 361 could get into the stocks market of HK? Quality is average, though some are good and pretty stylish. This badminton & running-focused (from what i see)brand is lacking advantages over other brands.
Perhaps 361 knows what they are not good at, i could see 361 was trying to build up an image as a modernized, street and young style of brand. And it is actually not bad, as i could see its actiona such as sponsors Chinese University Basketball Super League and became the apparels provider of 9 provinces in Chinese Olympics.
Future: 361 can play a strong role in China. I mean inside China. I don't think 361 can go beyond China and hit the world market. If 361 wants to fully compete with the 3 brands above, it immediately needs a powerful endorser and employs a fashion designer.
Last thoughts: All these brands are good but are bad at marketing and advertising. The designs of their goods are old-fashioned and framed. Nonetheless, i am just so proud of them going global. Chinese pride.

NBA 2K10 (XBox)
The 'Wild Card' is currently enjoying....................
My remarks:
- Kobe on the cover!
- The motions and movement of the players are even more realistic and smoother
- The proportions of the players are even better
- The faces of the players do not look as realistic as 2K9
- Love the new 'NBA Today' function
- In love with the new 'My Player' feature
- Have not tried the 'D-League' games yet, though that's a good idea
- Harder to control compared to 2K9
- Ratings of players are lower and somewhat unreasonable.
Anyone plays 2K10? Hit me up with what you think!

My Name is on the Injury List
Injured my shoulder for the 1st time in my playing career.
What happened? Here goes the script:
In the 3rd quarter, probably about 3:30 minutes left to the end of the 3rd,
I was dribbling the ball up court with my left hand on a fast-break,
One strong player rushed in from my right hand side and tried to steal the ball from me,
We crashed, actually i got bumped,
He got fouled, i felt the minor pain on my right shoulder,
Kept playing but started hurting,
End of the game, i could not really stretch my right arm.
Next morning, woke up for work,
F*@k, hurt so bad that i could not turn to my right hand side to get off my bed,
2 days later, did not feel good, started to scare that it might cost my ball career,
Went to a 'Tieh Ta' master (Chinese bonesetter),
Got my right shoulder wrapped up as you can see from the photo above,
2 days later, still hurtin'
The guy who f*@king hurt my shoulder actually plays for HK team. Anyway, i have realized we are not so far from the top players in HK, which suggests how good the skill level of HK basketball is.

Compare Your Love for Basketball with ME!
It was kind of a short day for me yet excited and long-awaited. I have been injured for 1 and a half months. We had a game few hours ago, in which that was my 2nd game back since my injury. I was so excited and really looking forward to that game.
But we lost. We got severely crushed. They won by a large margin. Damn.
We, the management team of my ball club - KSBC, just finished another meeting 2 hours ago. The conversations between our team members just fucking pissed me off so bad. I guess it is not the conversation, it is the way they think that pisses me off.
I have a motto myself that is quite widely known by my friends and i always try to pass it on to my students whenever i coach. 'Never think of losing going to a game'. Never. Regardless of who the opponents are. Never.
Though my teammates were like,'No way we are gonna win this game', 'I am pretty sure we would lose'. Man, what kind of attitude is that? So it is our 'destiny' to lose because we are facing certain players or teams? Fuck no.
You know how hard i played the game that i truly love? No matter how much we were down by, i kept driving, i kept my head up, i kept encouraging my boys. But who cared? I guess nobody. I have even injured my shoulder during the game, pretty bad i think. So all my injuries and sweat are wasted? I was playing at my fullest of my limited capability (again i am injured still) and you did not play with your heart and just did not give a fuck because our fate's name was 'LOSE'?
Pessimistic thoughts not only have big impact on your teammates but also surround the whole ball club with a frustrating atmosphere. It do nobody no good.
When i saw my boys on the court were giving up, when i saw their eyes look terribly frustrated, i was so disappointed. Very very much so.
How could you ignore the hard work that i have put in for the last 10 years? How dare did you give up on me? Did not wanna play? Get off the court man, no one needs you here.
I was so determined to get back in shape after the injury but then i am injured again. So this ain't my love and passion for the game? So tell me who could compare their love and passion for basketball to me?
'Disappointed' is the only word that could be used to describe my feeling now.
Sorry but fuck my team.
