Footwear Spring/Summer 2011/2012 Snapshot – Australia
Footwear Spring/Summer 2011/2012 Snapshot – Australia
By Jenny Tran – Fly Clothing, Business Development Consultant
For many, shoes are the final touch to an outfit – it can make or break it. For the devout few, shoes are the outfit – it tells a story and deserves to be recognised in its own right. For women, like handbags, shoes are collected; unfortunately shoes don’t get the same level of care and attention as do a handbag.
This article will be a brief snapshot of the current trends in Australia with regard to women’s shoes and my picks of the crop and what I think are the duds – of course every girl has a different opinion – so don't take this as gospel.
This is a trend referring to a combination of masculine and feminine characteristics. This isn’t a new trend – but has become quite prominent in the shoe department. Namely in the likes of the lace ups, oxfords, loafers and man tailored shoes. I can’t say that these shoes suit all women, as it is often worn without socks and paired with slim fit tailored pants cropped to the ankle. I have yet to see them successfully paired with a skirt – however with the revival of pencil skirts this trend would look perfect paired with the high heeled loafers for an understated yet slightly naughty look.
Man Tailored
Loafers (high heels)
Trend: Colour blocking
Colour blocking is all about bright colours worn together. Don’t be afraid to be daring and place two unlikely colours together! This is definitely something I look forward to after a cold winter season of the Melbourne staple – black! Bring on the burst of summer through colours: think blues, this seasons IT colour RED, purples, melons, gold, turquoise, greens, yellows and all that lies in between!

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Trend: Chunky/block heels – vintage inspired
Perfect for that balmy night out
Tan, chestnut browns match with this season’s crisp white outfits
Espadrille and orange – two trends in one!
So I hope you have enjoyed this as much as I have – I must say reviewing all these shoes are making my feet itch to add to my collection of 60+ shoes! I definitely look forward to the colours of spring and summer and my only wish is for Australia to stock shoes in smaller sizes! Keep your eyes and ears peeled of course for my new venture – Zibroni – watch this space!

The sunshine is coming out and the skies are clearing – the smell of spring is in the air and with it comes the launch of the new Spring/Summer 2011/2012 season.

Hot hot hot satin pink with an extra sparkle – Mollini’s “Queen” will definitely turn some heads on the dance floor with these gorgeous open-toe heels

An interesting revival of 60s and 70s inspired chunky/block heels have made its way to Australian shelves – I can’t say I’m a fan of the style, however for those who find tottering on stiletto heels a little difficult; these chunky heels will definitely help with balance! I’m thinking I’ll be giving this trend a miss!
Pair it back with your favourite maxi dress or a silk pencil pants and blouse combo for a more sophisticated look. Go for a typical cork style or rope-espadrille for a casual and effortless summery feel or a detailed and embellished wedge for more of a feminine sophisticated appeal. Bright coloured wedges are coming out in full force with the colour blocking trend circulating this spring summer. The perfect statement wedge can range from fun and flirty, weekend casual chic or elegant summer wardrobe.
Perfect for that balmy night out
Add some sophistication to your corporate suit

Bad Meets Evil (Deluxe)
Have i ever told yall i am the biggest fan of Eminem's? He pretty much brought Hip-Hop into Asia and i definitely got hooked onto it once i heard his songs.
03 - The Reunion
A true story of Em and Royce after their altercation. 'I ain't really like that .. you breaking my heart.'
04 - Above The Law
The opening line tells us the cruel reality - 'The poor stays poor, the rich get richer, its just so disproportionate.' But sorry the lyrics seem to have nothing to do with it.
05 - I'm On Everything
Super cool song that features Mike Epps! This song runs in my head all day! Royce owned it!
06 - A Kiss
Admittedly it doesn't grow on me.
07 - Lighters
Another most talked-about song because Bruno Mars is in it. What i dig is the lyrics, Royce shows love to Eminem and uses LeBron as reference.
08 - Take From Me
So this is a teaching of satisfaction and gratitude? Pretty good song as well.
09 - Loud Noises
Featuring Slaughterhouse, Crooked I, Joe Budden and Joell Ortiz. So-so song, i don't really like the beats. BTW, no Yelawolf?
10 - Living Proof
I thought it was about Proof but it was actually about their current status.
11 - Echo
Oh man i love this song! 'I eat rappers, with the rhyme consume 'em' Through the highs and through the lows!
Listen to their songs at: http://www.badmeetsevil.net
I have bought all his albums since 2006. This time however, came to my surprise that he was releasing an album with another rapper apart from Dr. Dre and not produced by him? I bought it anyway and i have been enjoying the flow of Royce Da 5'9 so i have decided to share with yall my thoughts on this album.
The playlist:
01 - Welcome 2 Hell
02 - Fast Lane
03 - The Reunion
04 - Above The Law
05 - I'm On Everything
06 - A Kiss
07 - Lighters
08 - Take From Me
09 - Loud Noises
10 - Living Proof
11 - Echo
01 - Welcome 2 Hell
I like it how they rap off each other like a conversation. This is what i always think a duo or featuring should do.
02 - Fast Lane
Most popular song of the whole album thus far. A catchy song and love the video.
